Luis Machuca

Luis Machuca obtained his law and public notary degrees at the National University of Asuncion, and is one of the founders and co-managing partner at Romero, Machuca & Asociados. Luis is in charge of advising companies and clients in court matters, as well as in contractual matters, and in providing immigration guidance to foreign clients.
Additionally, Luis is also registered before the National Directorate of Intellectual Property as a trademark agent.
Prior founding Romero, Machuca & Asociados, Luis was an in-house counsel at a private company, being in charge of civil and criminal court cases.
Regarding civil jurisdiction cases, Luis has extensive experience in summary executorial proceedings, collections, mortgage foreclosures, etc. Before joining the private company as an in-house counsel, Luis worked at the Paraguayan offices of Ferrere Abogados.
In Ferrere Luis was part of the immigration law team, advising foreign and local companies in the relocation of their managers and employees. Luis also was part of the corporate law team, advising local and foreign companies on corporate and regulatory matters, mainly focusing his practice in providing legal advice to foreign reinsurance companies, as well as reinsurance brokers.
Luis is currently pursuing a major in criminal law at the Institute of Criminal Sciences and Policy.
